A Salute in Storytelling

Undaunted was born from a request by one of India's most revered army training institutions—The Gurkha Training Centre, home to the 3rd and 9th Gurkha Rifles. Tasked with crafting a film that honored the legacy of the 3rd Gurkhas, from their pre-British beginnings to their modern-day valour, this project became much more than a commission—it became a tribute.

For me, working with the Indian Army has always been a dream rooted in respect and admiration. This was a chance to give back, to immortalize through film the stories of sacrifice, duty, and unbreakable resolve that define the regiment’s spirit.

The Process

Created over 7–8 years ago, Undaunted was one of my earliest, hands-on filmmaking projects. I was fully involved in the writing, research, and visual development. From sourcing historical accounts and old war records to shaping emotional and cinematic motion graphic sequences, I led the creative arc of the film. The aesthetic fused archival emotion with modern visual storytelling—bringing the regimental journey to life in a format that both veterans and young cadets could connect with.

The core of the film lay in its emotional realism—the hard-won battles, the forgotten legends, the unyielding pride. These themes ran through both our animation work and live shoots, stitched together with a strong narrative structure and deep visual symbolism.

The Premiere

The film premiered at a grand regimental event during the Bada Khana—a gathering of veterans and serving officers from across India. Watching Undaunted screened in front of men who had lived that history was one of the most moving moments of my career. The appreciation it received from senior officers and war veterans remains among my proudest acknowledgments.

Today, Undaunted continues to be an integral part of the 3rd Gurkha Rifles' regimental narrative—a small cinematic contribution to a legacy built on courage.
